Synchronize with Central is one of the most important commands in Revit. When it goes wrong, it really goes wrong, leading to users being locked out of work, losing work, or, at worst, model corruption. With Guardian Sync Traffic ControlTM, you can ensure users are syncing regularly, quickly, and without interruption.

Prevent costly sync conflics

We’ve heard it all – Microsoft Teams messages, spreadsheets, even shouting “I’m syncing!” across the office – as firms try to manually coordinate Syncing with Central. These methods still aren’t enough to prevent costly sync conflicts. Guardian’s Sync Traffic Control takes care of coordinating syncs by managing user syncs through a queuing system, preventing conflicts, and limiting downtime.

Sync Traffic Control™

Seamlessly coordinate Synchronize with Central

When the Synchronize with Central Revit command is executed, Guardian checks to see if Synchronize with Central is available. If nobody else is syncing, a dialog will prompt the user to proceed with synchronizing. There is a customizable countdown, after which Guardian will automatically start syncing.

Sync Traffic Control™

Intercept sync conflicts

If set to Prevent Mode, Sync Traffic Control can prevent simultaneous sync attempts. If another user is syncing, others can add themselves to the queue, continue working, and be prompted to sync when it’s their turn. This ensures users sync one at a time, avoiding sync conflicts and unnecessary downtime.

Sync Traffic Control™

Remind users to Sync with Central

Users tend not to sync because it takes too long, and they ignore Revit’s native sync reminders. This continual delay leads to even longer sync times and increases the risk of lost work or model corruption. Sync Traffic Control breaks this unhealthy cycle by empowering Guardian Administrators to encourage healthier sync habits through custom sync reminders and, if needed, automatic syncing after a set number of snoozes.

Sync reminders are fully customizable. Control how often reminders appear, tailor the message, and define how many times a user can delay before they’re required to Sync with Central.

Sync Traffic Control™

See Revit sync activity in real time

Within Project Central, our in-Revit dashboard, users can view the Sync Traffic Control queue to see who is currently syncing, when users last synced, and when their next sync reminder is scheduled. Guardian Administrators can also move users to the front of the queue and send reminders to specific users to synchronize.
