We're Guardian

We are AEC veterans, each with a unique background and the desire to advocate for and advance the technical roles that make design possible.

We've Been in Your Shoes

We know the Revit struggle — the wild west of modeling practices, inconsistent naming, bloated files, and teams doing things 100 different ways. In 2018, we said “enough.” We built Guardian for people who believe design should flow smoothly, not be held back by inconsistent standards or rework.

Our Mission and Vision

Pushing Proactive BIM Forward

Our mission is to automate consistency for a better user experience. With a vision to help Revit users reach their full potential, Guardian was created to help bridge the gap between the technology and the people.
Our Story

Why We Started Guardian

2018

In early 2018, Guardian was released to the AEC market, providing the industry’s first automated standards alignment for Revit.

2019

Keeping with its namesake, Guardian provides BIM and Model Managers the means of protecting Revit models from frequently misused Revit commands and completed work with User Commands and Protected Pins.

Guardian had its first booth at Autodesk University.

2020

To further enhance the automation of a firm’s Revit standards, Guardian introduces Guardian Sync Properties™, which stores and automatically updates Revit standards via the cloud.

User Commands is expanded to nearly 100 commands, allowing BIM and Model Managers to communicate processes and best practices when a Revit command is initiated.

2021

Custom Interactions are introduced, providing BIM and Model Managers significantly more protections and standards automations.

Workset Manager is released, providing the AEC industry with the first workset standardization tool and workset automations.

Guardian also introduces Backstage as a means for customers to see and analyze how their users are utilizing Revit.

Guardian is deployed in over 20 countries.

2022

2022 was about customization and refining how users interact with Guardian. Guardian’s Command Frequency and User Overrides provide BIM and Model Managers the ability to define how frequently and to whom Guardian interacts with.

2023

2023 started with further customizations with Project Configurations and the introduction of Approved Content Sources.

The introduction of Sync Traffic Control™ brought another AEC first. Sync Traffic Control solves the problem associated with large Revit teams trying to synchronize with central.

2024-2025+

The team grew by 60%, and we launched our most impactful release yet — built to give teams smarter insights, stronger protections, and clearer project awareness. This update featured a redesigned Registered Projects experience, powerful new tools like Label Manager, and expanded protections that safeguard key elements like family types, view filters, and view templates.
